I first became hooked on photography while styling shoots for a modelling agency at the age of 18. The photographers would let me look through the lens of their cameras to make sure they had captured what I had in mind. I was intrigued to learn how they brought the images to life, how they created different affects, and so I signed up to study photography at the North Oxfordshire College of Art.
When my husband was offered a job in America, we relocated to San Francisco where I was offered the opportunity to work with Dennis Anderson, one of the top ten hospitality photographers in the US. I then opened my own studio in California's Marin County specialising in photographing families. As a mother of two, capturing the milestones of children and their families was of special significance to me and when we relocated back to the UK in 2009 I pursued my interest in photographing babies, children and families.
We have a lot of fun during a session and it shows in my work. I find that the best pictures are those where the subjects are most at ease, where they are given the freedom to be themselves and to act naturally.
