I bought my first camera when I was 12 years old, (the somewhat clunky, built like a tank, Zenith EM). A couple of years later, at 17, I got my big break when the local newspaper published my picture of Princess Anne (half page on the front page no-less!) when she was visiting the area. This kind of inspired me and I took a job working for a highly respected local wedding photographer - the closest thing to a photography apprenticeship that you could get at the time.
It was here that I learned the traditional ways of photography; shooting on rolls of film, wet processing, printing - and carrying the camera case for the boss. After 3 years of training, at the age of 21, I was given my first wedding to shoot. True fact : in the days of film I used to shoot an entire wedding in 60 exposures. These days I will likely take 60 shots before you even have your dress on!
I started 1500 Photography in 2007 and within 3 years, I was honoured to win MPA Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year. Along the way we have picked up numerous awards for both my image making and my customer service with 1500 Photography.

Services
I picked up my first camera in 1984.
The 80's were a great era for weddings.
The fashion at the time was for puffball sleeves, big hair & flowers everywhere - looking back it's easy to smile at those pictures, but they were cutting edge at the time.
Today, they cannot help but look a little dated.
As they say fashion fades, style is eternal (yes I'm talking to you, Mr Man Bun).
I like to create timeless wedding pictures - that look beautiful no matter the decade (yes, even 30 years from now).
Well, with over 20 years experience in wedding photography and a stack of awards (including MPA Wedding Photographer of the Year), I'd like to think I've become pretty good at creating images.

The variation on Wedding Photography Prices is astonishing (even to me!).
Every photographer has a different level of experience and skill and charges accordingly.
Unfortunately, there is no 'minimum standard' in wedding photography and no legal requirements across the field.
However, many of us take it upon ourselves to undertake training, have our work judged by our peers, invest in the best equipment, accredit ourselves with a professional body and make sure that we fully insure both for public and personal liability (very important if your wedding is taking place in a National Trust site).

I am the wedding photographer for people who hate getting their pictures taken.
I will help you to relax and give you confidence in front of the camera to achive those natural wedding pictures you have always dreamed of.
How?
Well wedding photography isn't just about the big day itself.
There is a lot of planning and discussion beforehand to make sure I know exactly what you want.
It all starts with a drink.
One of the most important parts of wedding photography!
Its all about rapport.
If I turned up on the day with no idea about you as a person, or what you liked, then you probably wouldn't have the best photographs that reflected you as a couple.

Many, if not most of our family portrait clients, were once our wedding clients.
We believe passionately on developing a relationship with all of our clients and hope that once we have 'proved' ourselves at your wedding, that you keep us in mind for all your photographic requirements.
I believe that once you have mastered the art of wedding photography you can apply your skills to all aspects of photography.
I have to confess that I want to capture your baby 'naturally' I wont be tying them up like a pretzel and stuffing them into a flowerpot (no offence to those who love that kind of picture - its just not for me) I am happier catching your baby as their personality is coming to the fore.

Choosing the best wedding photographer for you is possibly one of the most difficult tasks couples face.
There are so many photographers out there with varying degrees of quality and price.
I have always believed that the best form of advertising, is a personal recommendation.
Massive thank you to Stuart and Gillian for our wedding photographs, it has made our special day even more memorable!
Everything from the booking, the actual wedding day, picking photographs and receiving our album was made so easy and smooth - definitely a 5 star service They consider and advise you on every eventuality and have so much experience they are ready for anything that comes their way.
